Our Core Objectives
The core objectives of Bluffton Self Help are
- Increase awareness and support of Bluffton Self Help within the Bluffton business and political / governmental community
- Development and implement Standard Operating Procedures (and policies), Codes of Conduct and similar relevant procedures
- Develop and implement a new building project
- Improve board participation, involvement and responsibility for fund raising, committee work, boards meetings, and events
- Improve the training of our volunteers while achieving consistency in their performance
Guiding Principles
- Bluffton Self Help is a private social service agency that provides assistance to Bluffton area individuals and families who find themselves in a temporary crisis and need short term help getting back on their feet.
- Bluffton Self Help does not consider legal status when providing services or assistance.
- In an ongoing effort to enable clients to work toward self reliance, Bluffton Self Help will partner with other organizations that have similar goals.
- Bluffton Self Help will manage our inventory of resources to meet the current needs of the community.

- Every client of Bluffton Self Help will be treated with respect and will receive specific guidance about self-helping behaviors that we expect and information about additional sources of assistance that can address their particular issues.
- Bluffton Self Help will communicate with other organizations to ensure that we avoid duplication of effort and services, and that services are provided in the most cost-effective manner.
- Bluffton Self Help’s records are kept in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices.
