Sign ups start for Thanksgiving dinners – sponsors are still needed!
The lines begin to form at Bluffton Self Help to sign up for Thanksgiving Dinners
The announcements are out, the volunteers are ready and the clients are asking..when is sign up for Thanksgiving dinners?
Bluffton Self Help has two sign up days for families in need to request assistance to provide a Thanksgiving dinner for their families. This Saturday, November 1 is the first sign up day.
This year, clients who have qualified for food distribution by proving they live in Bluffton, are eligible to sign up for groceries to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner. This year, each family will receive a 10-12 pound turkey, package of stuffing and instant potatoes, canned sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, green beans and turkey gravy and a package of macaroni and cheese. Plus more!
BSH anticipates over 400 requests for Thanksgiving dinners. That is a 14 percent increase over last year. Saturday, November 10 is the second sign-up day. Names of families needing assistance will be ready to share with sponsors on Monday, November 3.
