If you’re wondering what you can do to make a difference for BSH, here are three options

Stock the shelves.

If it were not for the many individuals and groups who sponsor food and clothing drives, we would not be able to meet the current demand of serving over 30,000 people per year. There are dozens of creative ways to help stock our shelves, beginning with buying extra items when you do your regular shopping. Take advantage of your coupons and buy one/get one free promotions to support BSH. Or, put together a food or clothing drive where your efforts will pay off in big ways!

Join the Team.

Many full and part-time residents have found great satisfaction in volunteering their time at Bluffton Self Help. On a daily basis, we need over a dozen volunteers to re-stock and distribute food; sort, fold and distribute clothing, greet clients and conduct interviews, and provide administrative services. Volunteers with computer and bilingual skills are particularly needed

Write a check..

Your financial support can make a huge difference for many local neighbors in need who cannot make ends meet. When clients come to BSH for assistance, they are carefully screened using several criteria for qualification, including verification of residence, work-history, and seriousness of the need. Between 85 and 90 percent of every dollar donated is returned to the client to meet their critical needs.
