Here’s what we need…Many of you are asking what specific items are most needed for general Thanksgiving donations, to aid our “Adopt a Family” program. Here is the list:
Please click here to register online or call Bluffton Self Help at (843) 757‑8000 Thanksgiving Program! Just about every week we have immediate needs that we want to make you aware of… It may be that we are low on a certain type of food item, or that the weather is making demands on our clothing supplies, or that the season demands extra support from the community for specific purposes. It’s time to Adopt Families for Thanksgiving!Individuals, families, churches, neighborhoods, schools, offices, businesses, etc can sign up to adopt 1 — 100 families this Thanksgiving Season. Donors are asked to purchase ingredients needed for one or more families, so that they can prepare a Thanksgiving meal in their own home. This is a wonderful program for BSH supporters who want to experience personal interaction with a family for which they are providing food. Clients and their families are currently signing up for this wonderful BSH tradition, and this year, our volume is up significantly! It’s easy to get started. Just complete this form, which will automatically be sent to the “Adopt a Family” team. Now that your form has been sent, you can expect a call or email from Julie or Lili or one of the volunteers from BSH. They’ll be matching you to your “family” or “families”. For each family you adopt, you will receive their name and contact information so that you can contact your family directly to coördinate a day and time to meet* and deliver the needed groceries. *BSH wants volunteers and clients to be safe at all times. Instead of driving to your family’s home, we encourage you to pick a convenient and public location where you will meet the family and give them your items. Other Ways You Can Help:
