Birdies for Charity is a fun way to contribute to your favorite charity while following the PGATOUR pros as they play in The Heritage.
Each participating charity will receive every penny of the donations of this program, plus the Heritage Classic Foundation will contribute an additional $100,000 among the participating charities.
Each organization asks their supporters to pledge a small amount for each birdie made during The Heritage. In 2011, 1,401 birdies were made by the PGATOUR golfers. The Birdies program celebrated its 12th year in 2011 by distributing $391,944 to local non-profits, pushing the total to around $3.2 million since it began 2000.
If you would like to make your pledge directly to the Birdies for Charity Website, then go here.
Or, you can download our pledge form, complete it, and send it to Birdies for Charity.

Bluffton Self Help has a NEWLOCATION and is providing services to more people than ever. The mission of Bluffton Self Help is to help individuals in the greater Bluffton area who are in need of short-term assistance. With the help of our Volunteers, we are able to keep our costs low, enabling us to contribute more to those in need. As a matter of fact, 91.5% of our revenue is spent on the people we help!
To continue our mission we desperately need more volunteers.
Volunteers Have Fun and Flexibility
The benefits include great volunteers to work with, a clean and newer facility to work in and an opportunity to really help your neighbors in need. Jobs include answering phones, stocking food shelves, clothing prep (folding and hanging) and display (placing clothing on shelves and racks), receptionist, receiving (unloading food and clothing donations), interpreters (Spanish), special events and computer inputting.

Hey there, Bluffton! BSH is currently in need of canned goods and non-perishable food items! Over 200 of your neighbors received assistance with food last week — the need for help with food is so apparent this cold winter season! Please consider purchasing a few extra items on your next trip to the store! BSH is always in need of CANNEDSOUPS, CANNEDVEGETABLES, RICE, PASTA, and CANNEDMEATS, such as TUNA,CHICKEN, and SPAM. It doesn’t take much to help a neighbor! Thanks so much for caring!
And that’s good news, considering needs also are high, according to two nonprofit organizations supported by area churches.
Bluffton Self Help expects to receive close to 1,000 requests from needy children for toys. So far half have been adopted by the community. But Jenny Haney, Bluffton Self Help executive director, has faith the spirit will prevail.
“You kind of get caught up in all of the generosity of all the people,” Haney said. “It is very rewarding.”
Monday is the final day for people to adopt children for Christmas through Self Help, which coordinates the delivery of toys to the families on Friday. Continue Reading…

Just in time for Christmas, our friends at Piggly Wiggly presented us with a check that will provide needed support to BSH programs. Currently, we are asking for donations and volunteers to get us through the holiday period.
Next up, the Secret Santa program that will provide toys for children who have been signed up to receive gifts from “Silent Santa” volunteers throughout the community.
We all absolutely love Thanksgiving Dinner! The great food, the family, the fun! But this isn’t always the case for some of our Bluffton neighbors who have come on hard times on our senior citizens on fixed incomes with no wiggle room for special holidays. For these folks, the ability to pay for a Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings is next to impossible.
Last year friends of BSH donated enough Thanksgiving groceries to feed over 250 families directly, and another 50 families were provided food from the BSH pantry. Continue Reading…
