Volunteer Tutors Info Sessions

Monday, June 21, 2021

We are dedicated to improving the lives of community members through education and literacy skills. We teach basic literacy, English as a Second Language, GED preparation, Adult Basic Education, and workforce skills.

We have a large number of students in the community who are waiting for services. What we don’t have is enough tutors to meet those needs. If you are interested in helping someone improve their literacy skills, learn to speak English, or prepare themselves for the workforce, come volunteer at Bluffton Self Help's The Literacy Center or Education & Resource Center.

With locations in Bluffton, Hilton Head, and Hardeeville, classes meet two times a week for two hours for 18 weeks. We have options available in the mornings from 9:00-11:00 or 6:00-8:00 in the evening. You can work with students individually or in a small group setting. No prior teaching experience is necessary. We will provide all the necessary training and materials.

Information sessions will be held:

Wednesday, July 7th at 10:00am | 1 Kitties Landing Rd # B, Bluffton, SC 29910

Thursday, July 8th at 7:00pm | 1 Kitties Landing Rd # B, Bluffton, SC 29910
